Why I Love My Paper Dictionary | Austin Kleon

Free tip for young writers: Go to Goodwill and buy a gigantic used paper dictionary for $5 and keep it on your desk.

Good advice. I don’t have a large paper dictionary, but I do have, and regularly consult, a print copy of Garner’s Modern English Usage.
